Yorkshire Rose Hand packed in North Yorkshire
Botanical Name — Capsicum annuum

Red King F1 sweet pepper is ideal for greenhouse or polytunnel growing, producing heavy crops of large, succulent, box-shaped fruits. These sweet peppers are packed with flavour and are perfect for stuffing, roasting, or enjoying fresh from the garden.

This vigorous variety is easy to grow from seed and reliably produces uniform, high-quality fruits throughout the season. The bright red peppers are visually striking and add both colour and taste to salads, cooking, and preserves.

Sowing Instructions

  • Sow seeds indoors in a warm, frost-free environment 8–10 weeks before the last expected frost.

  • Plant seeds in a well-drained seed compost, covering lightly with 2–3 mm of soil.

  • Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature above 16C for best germination.

  • Once seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, transplant individually into pots.

  • Harden off plants before moving them to a greenhouse or polytunnel.

  • Provide consistent watering, warmth, and support as plants grow.

  • Once flowering begins, feed regularly with a tomato or high-potash fertiliser to support heavy fruit set.

  • Fruits are ready to harvest when fully coloured, firm, and glossy.
